Pregnancy Physical Therapy in Albuquerque
Your body changes a lot in nine months. Aches, pressure and leaking are common during pregnancy, but you don't have to just push through until delivery. Physical therapy can help you feel more comfortable, stay active and head into birth feeling strong and prepared.
Sound familiar?
Sharp pain in the front of your pelvis when you walk, climb stairs or roll over in bed
Low back, hip or SI joint pain that gets worse as the day goes on
Leaking when you cough, sneeze or exercise
Pressure or heaviness in your pelvis
You want to keep running, lifting or taking classes but aren't sure how to adjust
You want to prepare your body for labor and recovery
How physical therapy helps
As your baby grows, your posture, balance and the way your joints and pelvic floor share the load all change. Physical therapy eases pain with hands-on treatment, then gives you movement strategies and exercise coaching for each trimester, so you can keep doing what you love and feel confident about birth and recovery.
What to expect
Your first visit is a one-on-one evaluation. We'll talk through your pregnancy, symptoms and goals, then look at how your breathing, posture, core, hips and pelvic floor work together. Internal pelvic exams are always optional and only done with your consent. You'll leave with a clear plan and a few strategies to feel better right away.

Common questions
When during pregnancy should I come in? Any time. Some women come in early for pain, and others come in the third trimester to prepare for birth. You don't need to wait for symptoms to start.
Is it safe to keep exercising? For most women, yes. Staying active is good for you and your baby. We'll help you adjust your workouts as your body changes so you can keep moving with confidence.
Will you work with my OB or midwife? Absolutely. With your permission, I'm happy to share updates with your provider.
