Postpartum Physical Therapy in Albuquerque
Whether your baby is six weeks or six years old, your body deserves care too. Leaking, pressure, pain and a core that doesn't feel like yours are common after birth, but they aren't something you have to live with.
Sound familiar?
You leak when you laugh, sneeze, lift your baby or exercise
You feel pressure or heaviness in your pelvis, especially at the end of the day
Sex is uncomfortable or painful
Your belly still bulges or domes when you sit up
Your back, hips or SI joint hurt when you carry and feed your baby
You want to get back to running or lifting but aren't sure where to start
How physical therapy helps
Pregnancy and birth change how your pelvic floor, core and hips work together. Pelvic floor physical therapy finds what's driving your symptoms and rebuilds strength and coordination step by step, using hands-on treatment, exercise and practical guidance for real life with a baby.
What to expect
Your first visit is a one-on-one evaluation. We'll talk through your birth, symptoms and goals, then look at how your breathing, posture, core, hips and pelvic floor work together. With your consent, this may include an internal pelvic exam, which is always optional. You'll leave with a clear plan and a few exercises to start right away.
Many women start around their six-week checkup, but it's never too late. Women see real improvement years after their last baby.

Common questions
Can I bring my baby? Absolutely!
I had a C-section. Is this for me? Yes. C-section recovery affects the core, scar tissue and pelvic floor, and physical therapy can help with all three.
How many visits will I need? It depends on your goals and symptoms. We'll talk through a plan at your first visit.
